I`ve seen numerous articles popping up on various websites across the internet, talking about the hazards and dangers of running, especially to the joints. Authors of these articles state that running will cause wear and tear to happen faster and some even link it to arthritis. Naturally I became concerned and decided to dig a bit deeper. I want to share one study done at Stanford University (source: Stanford Uni) where researchers made an attempt to determine the effects of running on the overall health and longevity. The results showed that initial disability appeared 16 years later (on average) in runners compared to no-runners. 19 years into the study mortality rate data showed that 34{47d2f8525d03a6a7e00c8cfa75b71ccb2155a72fe258f85b0406c7e1ffe314fd} of non-runners had died when compared to 16{47d2f8525d03a6a7e00c8cfa75b71ccb2155a72fe258f85b0406c7e1ffe314fd} of runners. Not only that, the “runners” group showed fewer cancer, neurological and infection caused deaths. Now, what does this have to do with your lower back pain?
